Today's birds are these muscovy ducks and their ducklings!

thing I like about florida: sometimes when you’re flipping rocks and digging for bugs some feral poultry will approach you and sort of look at you like hail, standing-ape. spare a worm for a bipedal comrade? and then I have to go find a worm or roach for them and they follow me around for a while and forage for bugs with me and when I pack up to go they sort of get it like many thanks for the morsel. may your crop stay full, plumeless one

peacock was picky and refused worms, had to offer him a scarab grub. posh chicken

This duck is UNREAL in person, the feathers over his wings (the upper and lower scapular feathers) are iridescent and shine with purple! Absolutely gorgeous boy, if I was into keeping ducks I would steal him in a heartbeat. He belongs to my neighbors, so at least I get to visit him whenever I want and he's super friendly!

Happy ducks looking for bread :) I had no bread but I did have some peas so they enjoyed that sacrifice. Also, Charlie has stopped violently biting my pants and now just nips at them which is great. He's also much bigger and is almost fully grown 🥹 they grow up so fast
